FLOW… a giveaway

The generous people at New Video contacted me to have two free downloads to give away, via iTunes for the film FLOW.
For those who don’t know… here is some information about this AMAZING film:
Irena Salina’s award-winning documentary investigation into what experts label the most important political and environmental issue of the 21st Century – The World Water Crisis.
Salina builds a case against the growing privatization of the world’s dwindling fresh water supply with an unflinching focus on politics, pollution, human rights, and the emergence of a domineering world water cartel.
Interviews with scientists and activists intelligently reveal the rapidly building crisis, at both the global and human scale, and the film introduces many of the governmental and corporate culprits behind the water grab, while begging the question “CAN ANYONE REALLY OWN WATER?”
Beyond identifying the problem, FLOW also gives viewers a look at the people and institutions providing practical solutions to the water crisis and those developing new technologies, which are fast becoming blueprints for a successful global and economic turnaround.
This film is incredible and should be viewed by everyone… water is a limited resources, possibly made more limited by the potential of privatizing it by larger corporations. This film explores ever aspect of water including the rights of all people to access to clean water. The group of filmmakers was even invited to appear before the United Nations to honor the 60th anniversary of the Declaration of Human Rights.
To enter the contest, submit a comment to this link… when you do, I get your email address that is unseen by others. I will randomly select two winners from the submissions in a week (2/26).

As a homeowner in Lake Tahoe I truly value good clean water and look forward to hearing more about this movie (and hopefully winning the free download!)

I have seen this film and it is a great eye-opening look at water issues around the world. I recently traveled to Ethiopia with a group of young people who are raising money for wells so girls in poor communities don’t have to carry water instead of going to school. I also recently organized an environmental art show which looked at water consumption at the high school where I teach. If I were selected for the download, I would share the film with these two different youth groups that I work with. The film is a great teaching tool.

I think it’s long overdue for people to open their eyes and get their asses into gear. We depend on everyone else to do everything for us. We think that government will just step up and do what is good for the public, but as you can see with history, this never happens.
It’s about YOU people… YOU need to get active and participate on sites like this one. Sites that say the truth and help you find a way to change your life to a simpler, healthier way that puts the environment and the world after you are gone, as a priority.
Shelley writes the truth. You need to listen. Get involved, change your life and you will change the world.

Flow’s been on my list of movies to see for a while. I lead a campus environmental group and if I win this little giveaway, I’ll hold a screening. Here’s hopin!
