Get ready for an exciting tale of future football stars! The Crimson Tide's newest signees, EJ Crowell and CD Morgan, are already making waves and leaving their mark on the field.
These high school athletes, fresh off their respective championship wins, showcased their five-star talent in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic. Crowell, a senior at Jackson High School and an Alabama signee, has an incredible knack for ending up with the football and, more often than not, a championship trophy. He dominated the field last week, rushing for an impressive 304 yards and five touchdowns, leading his team to the Class 4A state championship.
But here's where it gets controversial... In the All-Star game, Crowell's performance was slightly overshadowed by a questionable holding call. Despite carrying the ball 10 times for 61 yards and a touchdown, a 51-yard touchdown run was called back due to a holding penalty on the other side of the field. Talk about a controversial call!
And this is the part most people miss... Crowell's future college roommate, CD Morgan, stole the show with his incredible receiving skills. Morgan, a wide receiver from Benjamin Russell, caught three passes for 34 yards and a touchdown that left everyone in awe. With Alabama trailing early, Morgan made a spectacular catch, double-teamed by two Mississippi defenders, and made it look effortless, showcasing his ability to dominate one-on-one matchups.
"When I get a matchup one-on-one, I feel like I’m the best receiver in the world," Morgan, a 6-foot-4 powerhouse, boasted. And he's not wrong! His performance earned him comparisons to Dallas Cowboys star George Pickens, a true compliment in the football world.
Quarterback Brock Bradley, a Clemson signee, praised the depth of talent on the Alabama team, highlighting Morgan's exceptional skills. "CD jumps off the page. He's a freak of nature and will win any one-on-one battle," Bradley said. Bradley and his fellow quarterback, Landon Duckworth (a South Carolina signee), ran the Alabama offense seamlessly, pushing each other to excel.
Offensive coordinator Juan Johnson was thrilled to coach Morgan, calling it a special treat. "He can high-point any ball and make a play." Johnson envisions a bright future for the Alabama Crimson Tide offense with Morgan and Crowell joining forces.
"Those two kids together will make the Crimson Tide elite for years to come," Johnson added.
Before they take the college field, Crowell has one more title to chase - Mr. Football in the state. With his incredible performances, he's a strong favorite to win the title, and it would mean everything to him.
"Winning MVP and the state championship feels amazing, but winning Mr. Football would be the icing on the cake," Crowell said.
So, what do you think? Are Crowell and Morgan the future of Alabama football? Will they live up to the hype and lead the Crimson Tide to glory? Let's discuss in the comments and share your thoughts on these rising stars!
