Hold on to your hats, retro gamers! The upcoming Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties on PS5 and PS4 is shaping up to be a treasure trove of classic gaming experiences, far beyond the main story of Kazuma Kiryu and the side-story featuring Yoshitaka Mine.
We already knew about the inclusion of arcade favorites like Emergency Call Ambulance and SlashOut. But now, get ready for another dose of nostalgia with the announcement of Magical Truck Adventure!
This quirky title, originally released in 1998, is a co-op adventure where you control Roy and Alma, two children navigating a hand-operated rail cart. To speed up, you'll need to pump the lever up and down, and a foot pedal helps you dodge obstacles.
And this is where the DualSense controller comes into play! The pumping motion will be mapped to the analogue sticks, allowing you to play the game solo.
But that's not all! The remake also includes a fully playable Game Gear, and the list of games is impressive:
- Columns
- Fantasy Zone Gear
- Galaga 2
- G-LOC: Air Battle
- Mappy
- Pac-Man
- Puzlow Kids
- Sonic Chaos
- Sonic Drift
- Streets of Rage
- The GG Shinobi
- Woody Pop
Here's a cool feature: According to YouTuber RogersBase, these Game Gear games have been enhanced with quality-of-life improvements like rewind. It truly feels like a mini-compilation of handheld classics.
But here's where it gets controversial... While the inclusion of these retro games is fantastic, many fans are expressing frustration that SEGA isn't releasing these titles independently. Not everyone is a fan of the Yakuza series, and they're missing out on these gems.
What do you think? Would you be willing to pay for a dedicated compilation of SEGA's classic games, spanning from the Master System to the Dreamcast? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
